Hero Program

“Carrying the messages of real heroes,” Hero Program serves terminally ill children and their families. Through three different programs, we help these exemplars of courage to share their messages of hope and strength with each other and the community through writings, videos, and other avenues of communication. The first program is Heroes for Heroes, through which we provide terminally ill children with much needed diversions from their physical suffering by delivering entertainment right to their bedsides with the use of Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) devices, on-call artists, musicians, and athletes. Whereas other programs bring terminal kids to entertainment venues, we bring the entertainment directly to the kids. The Hero Scholarship will establish a memorial scholarship program for eligible high school seniors, which will both honor the heroes who have inspired us and deliver their inspirational messages into the wider community. Finally, we will raise additional funds for Hero Program through fees paid by participants of Hero Program Athletic Camps, which will teach healthy kids sports skills, help them build character, and energize them into a spirit of service through the messages of encouragement from our heroes.
